- **Event Description**: Sloop Tavern Yacht Club is excited to announce our 6th Annual Women at the Helm Race Series. The first in the series is Women at the Helm: Going the Distance, a typical buoy race with the goal of sending racers on a long course to maximize sailing time and fun!

What makes Women at the Helm different from our other races? This series specifically requires a female-identifying or non-binary person to helm through the whole race. This doesn't mean only one person can helm; in fact, we encourage crews with several qualifying helmspeople to rotate through who is at the helm! 

Join us after the race for awards and a special free raffle sponsored by Fisheries Supply, Seattle Marine Canvas, Seattle Sailing Club, Rough & Tumble, and SEASTR! All crew members that race will get one raffle ticket and additional tickets will be given to:

Awards will be announced at the Jolly Roger Taproom at Maritime Pacific/Rooftop Brewing in Ballard (1111 NW Ballard Way, Seattle, WA 98107).  Social event begins after the race or around 4:00pm with awards at approximately 6:00pm.  This location will welcome family members of all ages. Parking can be found on the east and west sides of Jolly Roger. Street parking is available on Ballard Way and on 14th Ave and in the H-Mart parking lot.

Race entry is free for STYC members and $35 for non-members.
